Financial planning for couples & newlyweds

Two incomes, one plan, no silent assumptions.

SyncPath Financial Planning runs individual consultation sessions in Seoul that help engaged and newly married couples turn separate money habits into shared, written goals — savings, debt, housing, retirement, and the conversations in between.

The gap we address

Most couples share a life long before they share a plan.

Wedding budgets get drafted in detail. Joint accounts sometimes follow. What rarely gets written down is the longer list: how student loans are paid back, whose salary covers fixed costs, what counts as an emergency, when a home deposit becomes realistic, and how retirement contributions continue if one partner steps back from work.

A first session at SyncPath exists to surface those questions before they become disagreements. We do not sell investment products and we do not take commission. The session is a structured conversation, focused on the goals you both actually share.

  • One couple, one agenda — both partners present for the session
  • Written summary of goals and open questions, sent after the meeting
  • Seoul office or secure video session anywhere in Korea

What a session covers

Three consultation formats, priced per session.

Fees are set in KRW and confirmed in writing before booking. No package is a regulated investment product; nothing is sold on commission.

Most requested

First Goals Session

Ninety minutes with both of you in the room. We sketch out what comes in and what goes out each month, then agree a short list of shared goals with rough dates attached. Suited to couples in the first year of running money together.

Follow-up

Goal Review

An hour to check in after a First Goals Session. We look at what has moved, shift dates where needed, and take on one more goal — often a home deposit, pension contributions, or a cost tied to starting a family.

Focused

Single-Topic Session

An hour on one decision you have already named — a deposit, a debt payoff order, a joint account, a sabbatical, or a move between countries. Bring the question; we bring the worksheet.

How a session runs

A worksheet, not a sales pitch.

Every session follows the same four-step structure so the conversation stays on your goals rather than on a product. We start from your current numbers, name the goals explicitly, test them against your real cash flow, and leave you with a written summary you can keep.

The full breakdown of each step is on the How it works page, including what to bring and how long each part takes.

Who a session is for

Honest about where these sessions help and where they do not.

A good fit

Engaged or newly married

Couples new to shared finances who want a written starting point before habits harden. Especially useful when one partner brings student debt or a non-Korean income into the household.

A good fit

A specific decision ahead

A housing deposit, a joint account, a parental-leave budget, or a sabbatical. A Single-Topic Session works through one decision and leaves a written action list.

Not a fit

What these sessions cannot do

SyncPath does not give licensed investment advice, file taxes, broker insurance, or practise law. We choose no securities, submit no tax returns, and earn no commission on financial products. Couples who need those services are pointed to a licensed securities firm, a tax accountant, or a lawyer, and the summary is written so those professionals can pick it up quickly.
